YouTube Merch Store for all partners, now with CafePress

We chock YouTube full of features to help turn your YouTube channel into your dream job, and there’s lots of other good folks out there who have similar goals. Last year we launched the Merch Store, teaming up with Amazon, iTunes, Topspin, Songkick and Google Play to help indie musicians on YouTube promote licensed merchandise, music downloads, and concert tickets on their channels.

Selling merch isn’t just for musicians, so starting today the Merch Store will become available to all YouTube partners in good standing around the world. We’ve also added another friend from the web for even more great merch—CafePress.

Over the next few months, you’ll see a new tab on their channel called “Store,” where you can choose your merch to showcase to fans. You’ll need to have an account with each company to list products on your channel, and clicking on the product will take you to the site where it’s for sale. Here’s what it looks like:

    3. Yea it's super weird now, its like they only want to keep their old time partners comfortable and make it even harder for new people to get up on top. Real shame. They better fix this soon...

    5. They have always had different 'levels' of Partnership, but never has it been so obvious as this latest round of Partner Additions... when they 'opened up Partners' to the world all they really did was let more YouTube accounts easily Monetize their videos.

      They did NOT open up the key components that many of us have/want: 1) Uploading Custom Thumbnails and 2) Clickable Channel Banners. Those 2 components are not available to the 'new partners'. BUT it seems they also took away the option to "apply" for partnership now as well.

      Only YT knows how you get to a higher level of partnership now (i.e. Thumbnails/Banners).

  4. How about Spreadshirt integration? ALL the top YouTubers use Spreadshirt or District Lines. No so much CafePress... and CafePress is EXPENSIVE!

  5. When will YouTube resolve the Super Partner and Junior Partner status. Here's another lovely feature thrown in the face of junior partners. I have no clue why they made everyone partner if in return they were going to have this tiered system. They had a tiered system before - either you were a partner or not. At least then, a post like this would continue to inspire me to get a full partnership. Now this post shows how ridiculous YouTube is being to new partners.

  6. When I first read this I was like, YAY because I'm a partner now. But then I realised, wait so is everyone, so everyone gets to sell stuff? Oh wait we're not really partners, just more money making tools for google...

  8. I've been a YouTube partner since December 2010 and I haven't seen this "store" tab on my channel, though smaller and more recent partners have. is there something specific you have to do to get access to this feature?

  11. I have a partner channel with enabled Store tab and I have my own items/store on amazon - but my items don't come up in the "add item" field. Why is that? Does this only work for items that are sold/shipped by amazon directly vs sellers on amazon? http://www.youtube.com/GHWP

  12. The new 'partners' aren't partners like before. Basically anyone can be an entry level partner, but over time they will upgrade you with more features.

  13. why doesn't it work? when will it work? Are there some instructions somewhere about how it works? NOTHING in my cafe press stores are "available" to add... Please tell me I'm doing something wrong and how to do it right.

    1. Same issue here. Created a whole store in CafePress today, but can't find any guidance (YT, CP, Google, blogs, etc.) on how to activate my store via YT. Trial and error just resulted in... error.

  14. I'm not sure whether to be excited that I'm a Partner, or not too excited that I am not a true "Partner." I've been on YouTube for about 3.5 years and have about 120K+ video views and 400-something subscribers. Yeah, not "Partner"-worthy numbers, but I'm considered a Partner regardless as of recently since I monetized some of my videos in taking advantage of Adsense for YouTube (I am a blogger as well).

    Again- not sure whether to be excited or what about being a Partner under this new model. I may even take advantage of the CafePress deal as part of the Partner package.

  16. I have yet to see the integrate with my CafePress shop. My guess is it won't work unless you are opted into the CafePress marketplace. I am opted out so I can control my pricing rather than them, the downside being that features such as affiliates and in the case YouTube won't work.

  25. To bring up this menu, simply hover over an item in the feed and click the arrow that appears in the upper right of the item. You can then choose to hide the item you have selected, opt to only show uploads from that user, or unsubscribe from that user, all directly in your feed. buy facebook fans
